There are four key characteristics of Australian Artesian Water
• Our water is a natural mineral rich Australian water.
• High levels of soft mineral salts such as Bicarbonates at 595ppm, Sodium at 400ppm, Chlorides at 220ppm and Carbonates at 108ppm.In addition there are other minerals in smaller amounts such as Potassium, Magnesium and Calcium. These make up what is known as the TDS, Total Dissolved Solids, which is high at an average of 1050ppm
• The high TDS is responsible for the high levels of ions in the water.
• The high level of minerals and Ions combine to make the water alkaline with a high pH of 8.6, this makes the water very soft to the taste.
Due to these four key characteristics Australian Artesian Water is considered beneficial for,
•Offsetting the effects of acidic conditions, the most obvious example of this is its ability to settle mild heartburn and reflux, brought on by spicey foods and alcoholic indulgences. It does this by having high quantities of the soft minerals mentioned, to back up the high pH of 8.6. It really works.
•Rehydration. The volume of minerals in Australian Artesian Water creates naturally high level of ions at 1370 ppm. Ions are an adjuvant for the absorption of fluids into your body. The more ions you have the faster you will absorb fluids. Ions are also important for maintaining your bodies charge balance.
•As an all natural sports drink. Exercise, massage and alcohol all induce dehydration and produce toxins in the body. Sodium is in your soft muscle tissue and chlorides are in your blood, their levels are volatile to your fluid levels, they aid in the removal of toxins from the body, and are lost from the body as you dehydrate. You need to replace these minerals lost in this process to maintain proper fluid balance and beneficial minerals in your body. Full Health, Full Water.
We realise this water is not to everyone’s taste, it is a full bodied water and to some people, seems to have a very distinctive flavour. What we can say, and everyone notices, is that it is soft to the palette. What you can taste when you drink Australian Artesian Water is the Bicarbonates. Sodium and Chloride in their natural state are relatively tasteless; in Australian Artesian Water they are totally natural. This is a full bodied mineral rich water.
In Australia we are used to drinking water from a large range of designer and not so designer bottles that all share a common ingredient, water that is very similar and does not really vary much in mineral content. Most waters commercially available in retailers fridges in Australia are low pH, low to very low mineral content and quite hard tasting to the palette.
The Sodium and the Chlorides in Australian Artesian Water are not to be confused with Sodium Chloride, common salt. This confusion gets entrenched because most food labelling simply refers to common salt additives as Sodium, and not Sodium Chloride. The balance of anions and cations in Australian Artesian Water means that you absorb the minerals as Sodium Bicarbonate and Bicarbonate of Chloride. These are far easier entities for your body to process, use and place where we required.
